A 4-Day Uganda safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park is an exclusive safari that enables you to experience a game drive, come close to our primates, and go on a Gorilla trekking adventure.

You will also have the opportunity for an amazing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you can spot several wildlife and bird species. Later, proceed to Bwindi Forest National Park purposely for Gorilla trekking and later transfer back to Kampala

Highlights of the 4-Day Uganda Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your early breakfast at your hotel, your guide driver will pick you up and head directly western part of Uganda that houses these two game parks. First on the itinerary is Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The transfer to queen Elizabeth leads you through Masaka road where your first stop will be at the equator for the experience and photo moments.

Proceed to Mbarara town for lunch and continue with your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving late afternoon.

Check in at your lodge and embark on an evening game drive after which you will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay

Day 2: Game Drive, Boat Cruise Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early cup of coffee/tea, you guide will come in to pick you. This is the crucial day of the stay here and you have to maximize fully and experience the park for its wildlife abundance.

You will go for an early morning game drive to catch up with the early risers and possibly encounter the cats as they retire from the hunt.

From this game drive, you are likely to spot on; lion, elephants, buffalos, leopard, antelopes among others with other several species of birds in this park.

Return to the lodge for breakfast, check out and go for a special boat cruise along the kazinga channel inside the park. Here you will be able to sight hippos, crocodiles, elephants and many other wildlife and aquatic life.

You will also spot array of birds on the bay. After the boat cruise, you will return to your lodge, have lunch and check out.

You will proceed to Bwindi National Park through Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, this place is famous for tree climbing lions and you could be lucky to see some.

Continue to Bwindi with arrival in the evening and head straight to your lodge to check in. later dinner and overnight

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides before embarking on your Gorilla trek. Head into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas.

Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas in Bwindi, you will be allowed on 1 hour with them up close and the return.

You can have your camera to take the pictures as many as you can. Your 4 Days Uganda safari driver/guide will drive back to your lodge to relax and spend another night here

Note: While the adults go for gorilla trekking, the children will be taken for a guided nature walk around the forest by the guide

Day 4: Transfer Back to Kampala

Day 4: Transfer Back to Kampala

After an early breakfast, your will transfer back to Kampala with stopovers in Mbarara for lunch. Arrive in Kampala in the evening. The 4 Days Uganda safari driver will take you to your hotel or if you flight is that very day; he will transfer to Entebbe airport for your flight back home

What You Need While Going for Gorilla Trekking

Just like Rwenzori Mountain Trekking, Gorilla trekking also requires these items when trekking the gorillas;

  • Water:

Gorilla trekking can be very tiresome and you need to refill your tank as the trek goes on. It is advisable to park a few water filtrations tablets before you come for the trek

  • Boots:

you will need good waterproof comfortable shoes. Sometimes it rains during the trek, so skid proof shoes can come in handy

  • Rain Jacket:

You are advised to carry rain jacket because if rains very often in Bwindi impenetrable forest

  • Snack:

You can carry a light snack to give you some energy during the walk in the forest

  • Trouser and shirts:

Bwindi forest is covered with thick undergrowth, therefore light trousers and long-sleeved shirts are advised

  • Socks:

You will have to tuck in the trousers into the socks to avoid insects crawling inside

  • Gloves:

You will need Garden gloves because you will be grabbing tree branches, leaves etc. and some can be thorny

  • Camera:

Carry a good camera (no flash) to capture this lifetime experience
