Detailed 5 Days Kidepo National Park Safari Uganda

• Day 1: Transfer to Kitgum

The first day of your 5 days kidepo safari is basically travelling. Considering the journey requires about 11 hours; pick up has to be as early as possible. Your journey will start at 7:00 am after an early breakfast, your journey to kitgum will start. Kidepo National Park is far placed-north east, bordering Kenya to the east and South Sudan to the north.

The journey can be very exhausting to drive direct to the park this making it necessary to break the journey in twos, that is Kampala to Kitgum and then Kitgum to the park. You will have stop overs along the way to stretch or for breakfast or lunch.

Lunch will be in Gulu town and arrive in Kitgum later afternoon and head direct to your room and then later dinner and overnight stay

Day 2 of the 5 Days Kidepo National Park Safari Uganda: Transfer to Kidepo National Park, Game Drive

On the second day of your trip to Kidepo Valley National Park, wake up to an early breakfast and embark on 3 hours drive to Kidepo National Park where you will embark on a game drive in the Kidepo Valley in the anticipation of seeing herds of buffalos, zebras, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and cheetahs.

You will enjoy a slow drive. Make sure camera ready to take some picture moments while on the game drive as you can have stops at any point you so want. Break off for the day and head straight to the lodge. You can spend the rest of the day for leisure admiring the wilderness environment. Dinner and overnight follows

Day 3: Game Drive

This is the busiest day of our trip and so a lot of activities are line up to this day and this include a morning game drive and a cultural walk on this third day of our five days Kidepo National Park Safari.

Very early in the morning breakfast will do you good before you hit the road. When breakfast is done, you will set off for another breathtaking and rewarding early morning game drive through the open savannah, rocky outcrops, forests and rings of mountains.

Drive extensively up to Kanangorok Hot springs and brace yourself for photo moments and chances of sighting more of wildlife especially lions sitting on the rocks as they scan the park for a possible prey. Drive back to the lodge to relax and lunch

In the afternoon, head out for a cultural tour to the Karamojong people for a truly unique experience. The Karamojong culture is still pure and totally unique from most other tribes in Uganda.

They have rejected civilization and still live like the ancient times. The Karamojong are predominantly pastoralists and live purposely on cattle farming. They fight for their cattle as it is in their belief that every cattle in the world belongs to them.

As such, fierce cattle raid still occurs in the region and at times stretch to neighboring Kenya. They are very interesting group of people with very strong and unique culture visible from their way of dressing, cooking, dancing, and other daily daily life activities. A visit to the Karamojong is truly a rewarding experience you should look forward to

Day 4 of the 5 Days Kidepo National Park Safari Uganda: Game Drive and Transfer to Kitgum

Early in the morning after the breakfast, we shall hit the road for another game drive. As they always say every stepping into the game park is a difference experience. No game drive is the same in the parks.

Every day presents itself differently and different sightings. You will spot as many wild animals on this game drive. Return to the lodge to check out and transfer to Kitgum where you will have your lunch and spend the rest of day relaxing.

Its optional that the return from the park you may opt for Gulu and not Kitgum for a short night stay. Later dinner and overnight

Day 5: Return to Kampala

On the fifth day of your trip no much pressure, we shall have breakfast relatively morning hours and proceed to Kampala with lunch en- route arriving in Kampala late afternoon or evening. You can decide to head direct to your hotel or transfer to Entebbe national airport for your flight back home
