- Getting to Katara Lodge
By road, visitors on Uganda safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park can access Katara Lodge starting from Kampala through Masaka-Mbarara-Bushenyi-Kasese then via Katara community to Katara Lodge. If you travel from Kabale, this lodge is approximately 79kms, and prior to getting to Ntungamo, turn left to the Rukungiri route and arrive at Ishaka where you will drive for about 43kms North to Katara Lodge.
You may also take the Kampala-Mubende-Fort Portal route to Kasese then connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can drive via Kyambura village. From Kyambura village, drive to Kichwamba and drive past Kichwamba police post and Kichwamba sub-county headquarters then you will connect to the Katara community before finally getting to Katara Lodge.
By air, visitors can also take scheduled flights using an aero link starting from Entebbe airport/Kajjansi airfield to Kasese airfield or Mweya airfield where your Uganda safari guide will pick you up to transfer to the lodge in a 4×4 safari vehicle.
